01-The Lion -water color painting

Blog-01

This painting is an inspiration of my visit to Philadelphia Zoo. A water color painting on arches paper of 300 GSM.

The setting sun spread its the golden light on the lion. He was a beautiful male, calm, and with eyes glowing in the sunlight. The mane was what caught my attention, especially with my penchant for golden hair.
Details about the painting:
Colors: Background wash- Lemon yellow, green, cerulean blue, burnt sienna
Face-Chrome yellow, burnt sienna, yellow ochre
Mane (Light)- Burnt sienna, chrome yellow
Mane (Dark)- Burnt sienna, Burnt Umber, red, purple

              Paper – Arches 300 GSM

The Tiger from Splatter...

02- The Tiger -splatter  I wanted to create a tiger from splatter of water proof ink… and here is a beautiful abstract with beautiful eyes.  Details- I have used a Canson extra  white marker paper 70 gsm/ 18lbs, size A3 Ink- water proof ink  colors- yellow, orange, black While doing such a type of painting  on a paper we should take a little bit care about the shape of our drawing. This type of  waterproof ink gets dry quickly, so time is an important factor.  After making the shape in splatter I have done the  details of eyes, nose, mouth etc..
